10th November Message from the Rector

On the 84th anniversary of the eternal rest of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Rector Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Zeybek published a commemorative message.

The Rector included the following feelings and thoughts in his message: “Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk has gained a prestigious place in the history of the world with his patriotism, military genius, victories, views, and the Republic of Turkey he founded. Atatürk left us a sacred relic by stating that “One day my mortal body will turn to dust, but the Turkish Republic will stand forever.” I believe that our future generations will always carry forward the values and ideals of the Republic of Turkey, which they have entrusted, and will always protect their country with the sense of responsibility they have undertaken and the determination to further the achievements of the Republic. As Gümüşhane University, we are raising our youth with a vision that will create added value for a Turkey in line with the 2023, 2053 and 2071 targets of our country and shape the future by integrating with the universal culture. We wholeheartedly believe that our youth will take care of many more sacred relics, such as the Republic, given to us in the light of ideals.

I hereby commemorate the Commander-in-Chief of the War of Independence, the founder of our Republic, and the great statesman, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, with love and respect on the 84thanniversary of his eternal rest, and I wish God's mercy upon all our martyrs who passed away for our country.”
