Gümüşhane Üniversitesi 31 Mayıs 2008 tarih ve 26892 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanarak yüyürlüğe giren 5765 sayılı Kanunla kurulmuştur. Gümüşhane'de Gümüşhane Üniversitesi adıyla kurulan bu Üniversite Rektörlüğe bağlı olarak yeni kurulan İletşim Fakültesi, daha önce KTÜ'ne bağlı iken adı ve bağlantısı değiştirilerek Rektörlüğe bağlanan Gümüşhane Mühendislik Fakültesi, İktisadi ve İdari Bilimler Fakültesi, Gümüşhane Sağlık Yüksekokulu (Aşağıda belirtildiği üzere daha sonra fakülteye dönüştürüldü), Gümüşhane Meslek Yüksek Okulu, Şiran Meslek Yüksekokulu, Gümüşhane Sağlık Hizmetleri Meslek Yükseokulu ile Erzincan Üniversitesi Rektörlüğüne bağlı iken adı...

Erasmus Student Exchange Mobility Event, which was held at the conference hall in the Congress and Culture Center of our university, started with the opening speech of Foreign Relations Institution Coordinator, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Büşra Tosunoğlu. After the opening speeches, Lecturer Ayşe Güneş, who is in charge of Erasmus program in the coordinatorship, gave information about the promotion of Erasmus Student Exchange Mobility and the application processes. Meanwhile, students who participated in the abroad education program presented their experiences. The event, which attracted huge interest, ended with the award-winning quiz competition based on the question-answer session. After the competition in which questions about Erasmus program were included, gifts were given by the coordinator to the participants in the top five rankings.
Expressing that the number of contracted universities abroad is increasing day by day, the rector Prof. Dr. Halil İbrahim Zeybek stated that “As Gümüşhane University, we have bilateral agreements with 14 countries and 48 universities. Providing that our students prefer universities related to their departments, they can easily attend undergraduate, graduate and internship trainings there. It is very important for us that our students see different countries, get to know different cultures, introduce their own culture there and gain experience in international fields. The importance of abroad education is also very important here. The Foreign Relations Office of our university constantly makes an effort in this direction and informs and guides our students. For this reason, I would like to thank the Foreign Relations Office and all our students who have contributed to the accomplishment of the Erasmus Student Exchange Mobility Program.
